“When I argue with reality I lose, but only 100% of the time.” – Byron Katie

We spend a lot of time being frustrated about things we can’t control – situations, other people – instead of focusing on the one thing we can control – which is ourselves.

Accepting reality doesn’t mean that we always like it or that we condone anything that doesn’t align with our values.

It’s also not about toxic positivity or feeling happy 100% of the time.  We’re going to feel negative emotions sometimes. That’s part of life.

Accepting reality means that we stop wasting our energy wishing things were different.

To quote Dr. Jermaine Davis, “You know what’s undefeated? Reality!”
