Hey lovely! Welcome to this little corner of the internet!
If you’re like me, you’ve accomplished many of the things you’ve set out to do. You have the fancy degree, the husband, the 2.3 kids (or pugs, in my case), the house in the suburbs, the great job…you have what you’ve always wanted.
And yet…you’re not as happy as you always imagined you would be when you finally “arrived”.
Instead, you’re filled with anxiety, stress, and overwhelm…or perhaps you feel bored and unfulfilled.
If you’re like most people, you’ll try to fill that void by chasing after the next big promotion, the bigger house, the newer
car, the endless stuff…
…but that is not where you will find happiness – I promise you.
Most of us believe the lie that happiness comes from the things we have – our relationships, our jobs, our hobbies, our stuff.
It doesn’t come from any of that.
It comes from your thoughts.
If you want to truly change your life, you need to look within.
You’ve probably heard the phrase “wherever you go, there you are.”
If you’re in the habit of thinking thoughts that cause anxiety, stress, or frustration, you won’t magically become happier when you land another promotion or get a big raise. You will bring the same brain with you wherever you go.
My goal with this blog is to give you practical, actionable tools to rewire your brain, change your thoughts, feel better, and create the experience you truly desire.
Here’s a little more about me…
- I was born and raised in cold, snowy Minnesota. I now live in the south surrounded by palm trees and abundant sunshine. While I’m completely in love with many aspects of southern living, I’ll always be a Midwestern girl at heart.
- I have always been fascinated by how the human brain works. It’s no surprise then that both of my degrees are related to human behavior – I have a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in Human Resources from the Carlson School of Management.
- By day, I’m an HR analyst. I love research and data, and I’m a very analytical person. You won’t find anything woo-woo on this blog (not that there’s anything wrong with that if you’re into it – it just isn’t my thing). Instead, you will find practical, actionable tools that I’ve applied to my own life.
- I became a Christian in my late 20’s after being agnostic for most of my life. This surprised me almost as much as it surprised everyone around me. I actually had a negative perception of Christianity for most of my life. Thankfully, I learned that Christianity is not at all what I thought it was – it is a beautiful story of love and grace. I’m still working on unwinding many of the toxic narratives that I learned as a child about God, people, and the Christian faith.
When I’m not working or blogging, you can find me working on my latest scrapbooking project, hanging out with my husband and our four pugs, or listening to yet another podcast about how to rewire your brain and transform your life.
Are you ready to transform yours?
Let’s do this!
